Uplands Park, MO  (KTRS)  A suspect is recovering after being shot by police in Uplands Park.

Investigators say officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were conducting a traffic stop early Saturday morning when the suspect The Metro Air Unit  later located the suspect’s vehicle in the 3400 block of Pine Grove in Uplands Park, a suburb of north county.

The St. Louis officers arrived on the scene and the suspect then fled on foot. That’s when police say the suspect flourished a gun and waved it at the officers. Police then fired at the suspect, striking him.

The suspect was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He is expected to survive.
