(KTRS) – The City of Ferguson announced the four finalists for its Chief of Police.

They include a former police chief from the Chicago area and another from Arkansas, a department supervisor from Miami, and the current Police Chief from another north county community.

City spokesman Jeff Small says they conducted a nationwide search and received 54 applications before narrowing it the four finalists. All of the finalists have interviewed in Ferguson with members of the police department as well as Ferguson residents.

The city expects to announce the new chief by April.
