(KTRS) – The Environmental Protection Agency says there are options when it comes to dealing with radioactive material at the West Lake Landfill.

The Post-Dispatch reports that EPA representatives met with area residents to give an update on plans. Nearly a decade ago, the agency proposed placing a cap over the materials, but many residents say they want the material moved.

The EPA is expected to announce their plans later this year.
