(KTRS/AP) – The Department of Justice is officially suing the city of Ferguson.
Tuesday night the city council voted to amend an agreement with the DOJ aimed improving police and court practices. Federal officials say Ferguson residents have waited a year for the city to adopt the agreement and should not be force to wait any longer.
A recent financial analysis determined that the agreement would cost the struggling city nearly $4 million in the first year alone. The council voted 6-0 Tuesday to adopt the deal, but with seven amendments.
