Granite City, IL (KTRS)  A Granite City couple is dead following a house fire.

Firefighters were called to a burning home along the 1700 block of Minerva Street around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. After the fire was brought under control, firefighters searched the home and found the bodies of 70-year-old Randle Witter and 59-year-old Rhonda Witter. The family says the couple’s beloved dog, Boston, also died.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
