Grafton, IL  (KTRS)  A husband and wife are hospitalized after a boat explosion is Grafton.

Authorities say the explosion happened early Saturday night on the Mississippi River as the leisure boat was coming in to dock. The operator of the boat was reportedly having mechanical issues.

The victims were thrown into the water when the boat exploded. Both suffered serious burns.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
