St. Louis, MO (KTRS) The community is preparing to say goodbye to St. Louis civil rights leader Frankie Muse Freeman. A public visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m.until 8 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Missouri History Museum. This will be followed by a funeral service Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Washington Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 3200 Washington Avenue, where Ms. Freeman was a member.
Freeman served as the lead counsel in the landmark 1954 case Davis et al. v. the St. Louis Housing Authority, which ended legal racial discrimination in public housing.
Freeman died one week ago today at the age of 101.
