St. Louis, MO (KTRS)  — Police say a stolen car wanted in connection with the murder of a teen on his 17th birthday was found torched in north county.

Police announced Wednesday that the 2009 four-door Pontiac G8 was found near a stretch of railroad tracks in Spanish Lake. The discovery was made after police released surveillance images of the car that was taken in a carjacking and then used in the shooting of Armond Latimore on Saturday. About an hour before the shooting, Latimore posted online that he was glad to make it to his birthday after all he’d been through.

There’s no word on a motive. It isn’t clear whether the carjacker is the same person who killed Latimore.
