(KTRS) – The St. Louis Board of Aldermen are requesting money from the NFL to pay off the remaining balance of the Edward Jones Dome.
Board of Aldermen President Lewis Reed sent a letter to the league, saying the by allowing the Rams to move to Los Angeles, the NFL is leaving St. Louis “holding the bag on millions in unfunded obligations on the dome.” The city of St. Louis, St. Louis County, and the state of Missouri will pay a combined $24 million a year on the dome through 2021.
The Post-Dispatch reports that if the NFL rejects the request, the city, state, or Stadium Task force could sue the NFL.
