ST. LOUIS (KTRS) Ballpark Village has a new hotel coming. It will be the first Loews Hotel in St. Louis and the second so-called Live! by Loews Hotel in the Loews chain.

Loews Chairman and CEO Jonathan Tisch says the company is investing in the future of downtown St. Louis. Tisch says the other Live! by Loews hotel is in Arlington, Texas, where the Texas Rangers are based. Cards President Bill DeWitt III says the expansion of Ballpark Village with the Loews hotel is also included in St. Louis’ bid for the second Amazon headquarters.

Live! by Loews is slated for opening in 2019. The 65-million dollar hotel is part of an overall 260-million dollar expansion of Ballpark Village.

The eight-story hotel will complete the full build-out of Clark Street. Live! by Loews is described as an upscale, full-service convention hotel.
