(KTRS) – Missouri Auditor Nicole Galloway says there are still serious problems in the Wellston municipal court.
The recent audit discovered the court collected a $2 fee on all cases with the promise to donate that money to domestic violence shelters. Galloway says there is no evidence that the money was spent on shelter operations. The audit also criticized the city’s handling of bond money and noted poor record-keeping practices.
The court system received the lower possible rating of “poor.”
