(KTRS) – The world’s two largest brewers are combining, forming a company that will control nearly a third of the beer sold worldwide.
Negotiations came to a close early Wednesday when the two sides agreed on a $105.5 billion deal–one of the largest corporate mergers ever. The merger combines parts of A-B InBev’s Budweiser, Bud Light, and Stella Artois brans with SAB Miller’s portfolio, including Peroni and Foster’s. The move will likely have little impact on consumers in the US.
Analysts say SAB will sell its stake in MillerCoors to avoid interference from regulators. The two companies will also likely have to sell off brands in other countries to satisfy regulators there.
