ST. LOUIS (AP) — Authorities say an officer has shot and killed a man who had just wounded his friend in St. Louis.
St. Louis Police Chief John Hayden said during a news conference that the shooting happened late Monday after officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment. After hearing a muffled gunshot from a nearby apartment, officers approached. Hayden says an armed man then came running out of the apartment. Police say he ignored commands to stop and was shot when he turned toward police. His name wasn’t immediately released. Two pistols were recovered there.
Another man was found inside the apartment suffering from a leg wound. He said his friend shot him after pulling a pistol on him to rob him of a firearm, and then ran out of the apartment.
