St. Charles County, MO (KTRS) The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a police cruiser in St. Charles County.
Investigators say at just after 10 p.m.Wednesday, the St. Charles County Police officer was traveling westbound on Interstate 70 in his patrol vehicle when he struck a pedestrian walking in the center lane. Witnesses reported that the pedestrian was attempting to cross from the north side of the interstate to the south.
The officer wasn’t injured. The name of the victim hasn’t been released.
The officer is a 36-year-old with 12 years of law enforcement service. He is on administrative leave as is the custom.
