ST. LOUIS (KTRS) St. Louis County Police are asking any women who have been assaulted by a rape suspect they have now in custody to contact them. The suspect is Shawn Hughes, 36, of the 2400 block of Silkwood Drive in St. Louis. He’s being held in last week’s sexual assault in Overland of a woman who says he shot her eight times after she refused his demands. Police say Hughes is charged with first degree rape, first degree assault and first degree armed criminal action, among other charges. He’s being held on $500,000 cash only bond.

The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.
