MADISON COUNTY, ILL (KTRS) Metro East investigators are looking for a suspect who may be connected to as many as five armed robberies since late November. The robberies occurred at banks in Edwardsville, Alton and East Alton, Wood River and Godfery, Illinois. Nobody was hurt.

Capt. Mike Dixon with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department says he has not seen so many armed robberies in one specific area in his more than 20 years in law enforcement. Capt. Dixon also says the suspect may have worn a sling in one robbery as a disguise.
