Three Metro-East lawmakers are speaking out in support of plans recently announced by World Wide Technology Raceway. State Sen. Christopher Belt along with State Representatives Katie Stuart and Jay Hoffman have issued a joint statement in support of NASCAR’s decision to make the Enjoy IL 300 a playoff race, and to return the X-finity racing series to the Raceway next year. According to Belt, the IL 300 is the Metro East’s biggest event having a major economic impact on the region. The Cup Series Enjoy IL 300 event will move from June to Sept. 7th in 2025 and after a 14 year hiatus, Xfinity Series racing will also return to the raceway in Madison. According to Belt, this years Cup Series was the raceways 3rd consecutive sellout, with race fans visiting here from 48 states and 20 countries, generating $60 million in economic impact for the Metro-east region.
