(KTRS) – The US Census Bureau released their annual population estimates and they show that Missouri and Illinois are heading in different directions.

Missouri saw an increase in population–there are an estimated 17,000 new residents in the state. Illinois on the other hand, lost more residents than any other state–but it remains the fifth most populous state in the country.
