The Ferguson police department is looking to fill it’s dwindling ranks, but is not having much luck.
The department, which was thrown into the national spotlight following Michael Brown’s death, apparently, has lost almost 20 officers since 2014 and is currently facing 13 vacancies. Some officers have retired, others resigned after dealing with months of protests and heavy scrutiny to find different jobs.
Ferguson Mayor, James Knowles says -“finding qualified applicants has been tough and diversity continues to be a goal”.
