(KTRS) – The University of Missouri football team is severing its ties with quarterback Maty Mauk.
Head coach Barry Odom announced Thursday afternoon that Mauk was permanently suspended from the team. The decision comes in the same week that Odom and Athletic Director Mack Rhoades indefinitely suspended Mauk. That was Mauk’s third suspension in the past four months.
Odom says the dismissal was not the result of a years-old viral video that was released this week, but instead due to something since rejoining the team last month. Mauk leaves the team with the ninth-most passing yards in school history.
