KINLOCH (KTRS) Sentencing is set for October for two former Kinloch city officials … a husband and wife … who have pleaded guilty to stealing from the Kinloch Fire Protection District.
According to the U-S Attorney’s office, former Kinloch mayor and fire chief Darren Small and his wife, Jayna Small, who was the president of the district’s board, used funds from the District’s bank account for their own personal use, including to purchase clothing, food, liquor, cigarettes, and their personal household utility bills. Jayna Small also admitted that she diverted funds from the District by writing a check from the District’s bank account in the amount of $7,200 and using the funds from the check to pay for the funeral expenses of a relative.
Jayna Small pleaded guilty last week. Darren Small pleaded guilty Thursday.
