Three gyms robbed within minutes of one another

St. Louis, MO (KTRS) - A spate of break-ins targeted south city gyms this morning.

 

Fox2 reports thieves hit at least three different gyms in less than a half an hour early today.  Cars were vandalized at the St. Louis Fitness Club on Hampton and Potomac, and another fitness club in Hampton Village near Schnucks as well as at Blast Fitness on Jefferson and Lafayette. Piles of glass greeted many people after their workouts. St. Louis police got the first call around 6:00am. Hampton Village.

 

Police believe the same suspects may be behind all of the break ins. They are described at this point as two males in a dark grey Grand Prix.

UPDATE: Missing Belleville boy found safe

St. Louis, MO (KTRS) - UPDATE: Good news for a Belleville father, his 11-year-old son has been found safe.

 

A SARAA Alert was issued Wednesday morning for DeAngelo Lopez. Police say DeAngelo's mother took the boy sometime on Sunday. DeAngelo's father has full custody, but he let the boy visit his mother.

 

Police say that both DeAngelo and his mother are at Belleville police headquarters. 

EARLIER:Belleville Police are asking for the public's help to find a boy they believe was taken by his non-custodial mother.

 

 Police issued a SARAA Alert this morning for 11-year-old DeAngelo Lopez.  Police say the boy's father had let the child's mother, 30-year-old Coreen Lopez, take him for a visit on Sunday, April 20.  Neither she nor the boy have been heard from since.  DeAngelo Lopez is described as black, 4-foot-11, 80-pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.  He has a black mark on his lower lip and a half-inch scar on the back of his head.  He was last seen wearing Khaki shorts and a white tee shirt.

 

 Coreen Lopez was driving a burgundy Kia Optima with Illinois tags and may have headed to St. Louis.  Anyone with information is urged to call Belleville Police.

Universities examine bans of 'selfies' at graduations

St. Louis, MO (KTRS) - It may be coming to a college near you.......with graduation season upon us, bans on selfies are being suggested.

 

Two universities are the latest to follow what could become a trend. Bryant University in Rhode Island and the University of South Florida are both requesting that graduates keep their smart phones in their pockets when receiving their diplomas. University officials are concerned that students taking pictures while on stage will back up the proceedings.
