An 82 year old Alton woman who's been missing since Monday morning has been found alive.
Madison County authorities say horseback riders found Shirley Plunk Wednesday evening. She and her minivan were stuck in the mud at the end of a dirt road in Mitchell, Illinois.
Plunk told police the van got stuck Monday afternoon. She got out, slipped in the mud and became stuck herself.
Plunk was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and reunited with her family.
Alton police are searching for a missing 82 year old woman. Police say Shirley Plunk was last seen late Monday morning at the Hillcrest Apartments in Alton.
Plunk is 5 feet 6 inches tall, about 250 pounds with gray hair.
Police say she rarely ventures outside of Alton and drives a grayish-green 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan with Illinois license plate: CEPSMP.

A woman who disappeared while kayaking on the Mississippi Rive near Portage des Sioux Thursday night is safe.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that the woman had launched into the river near the My River Home marina in northern St. Charles County around 7 p.m.. She had been gone more than two hours when friends and family became concerned and called for help.
Rescue boats were launched around 10 p.m.
A Missouri Water Patrol team found the woman about 11 p.m. She was shouting for help from an island after being dumped into the river when her kayak flipped.
Police are looking for a 94 year old St. Peters woman who disappeared Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Ellen McCurter left her home in the first block of El Dorado Drive to go to a grocery store off Mid Rivers Mall Drive about 4 p.m. and hasn't been seen since. McCurter was last seen driving away in her silver 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van with Missouri handicapped plates: A-G-3-9-G.
Her family tells police she doesn't have any special medical issues or a history of wandering.

Investigators believe Jackson was killed in the suspect's north city home, not far from where her body was found stuffed in the trunk of her own car. The paper reports that the suspect's current girlfriend lives in the apartment building where Jackson's baby was found.
Authorities say just before noon Sunday, searchers found the body of 48 year old Jennifer Bogert in a creek less than a mile from her Eolia home.
The Lincoln County Sheriff says Bogert appears to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Sheriff's deputies and volunteers had been searching for Bogert after she failed to show up for work Friday morning.
