FENTON, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in Jefferson County are searching for two burglary suspects after a homeowner fired three shots at them - but missed - during an invasion of her home.
 
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says the woman awoke about 2:50 a.m. Friday and heard someone opening the front door of her home in Fenton. She looked down from the top of the stairs and saw two men standing inside the door. She fired three shots.
 
The burglars ran out, apparently without injuries.

Four suspects are facing charges connected to a home invasion in Alton earlier this month.

 

Rachel Barnes, 24, Christopher Hill, 27, DeMarco Smith, 20, and Curtis Wallace, 38, have been all been arrested for armed robbery and home invasion, according to Alton Police. Hill and Wallace also face attempted murder charges. Police say they were called to a home an January 16. They found a 55-year-old man who had been beaten with fists, gun, and a pipe, and then was stabbed.

 

Police from Alton, St. Louis County and St. Louis City worked together to catch the suspects. The victim has since been released from the hospital.

Police: Olivette home invasion not random

Police say that a home invasion in Olivette on Monday, was not random.

Around 10:30 Monday morning, a woman in her 40's and her mother were attacked as they left a house. A neighbor heard the women screaming and called 911. Three suspects drove off, the fourth ran away. Police captured that suspect, who is now identified as Devontez Talley.

He is held on a $1 million bond and faces felony charges. Police say that they learned the identities of two more of the suspects. Investigators also say the victims were specifically targeted.

The search continues for three home invasion suspects.

Around 11 AM, four suspects attempted to rob a woman and her mother at their Olivette home. Neighbors heard the homeowner screaming and called police. Three of the suspects drove off and a fourth tried to run away. While officers searched for the suspects, the nearby Old Bonhomme Elementary school was placed on lockdown. Officials say it was only a precaution.

Officers caught one suspect and the lockdown was lifted. The remaining three suspects are on the loose.

A police are looking for two suspects after a high speed chase.

The pursuit started after a home invasion in Jennings Friday morning. The suspects sped away from officers and led them on a chase. The pursuit ended in downtown St. Louis. The suspects ran into a nearby building. Police have formed a perimeter around the building.

St. Louis man sentenced for home invasion

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A 20-year-old St. Louis man has been sentenced to 29 years in prison for a 2011 home invasion in which a he beat an elderly homeowner to death and sexually assaulted a health care aide.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Travon Jones was sentenced Friday after being found guilty of second-degree murder, forcible sodomy and several other charges.

Jones was convicted of bursting into a home where 92-year-old Arteria King and his wife, 90-year-old Sarah King, lived and beating Arteria King while his wife listened. A 50-year-old aide testified Jones led her around the house looking for items to steal before raping her and taking the keys to her vehicle.

Arteria King died a week later of his injuries. His wife died the same day of natural causes.

Still no suspect in custody after an elderly man was beaten during a home invasion last week.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department say the 91-year-old man was home alone when several suspects forced their way into his house. The victim tried to stop the men, but they attacked him. The man remains in the hospital and the investigation continues.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department.

UPDATED at 5:23 PM:

The man responsible for a four-hour standoff in Belleville this morning, is now facing charges.

The incident started when Dougford Butler allegedly attacked a woman from a previous relationship. He then drove off. Officers found that car outside a home and determined Butler was holed up in the house.

Around 11:30, Butler peacefully surrendered to police.

He is now charged with one count of home invasion and held on a half-million dollar bond.

Man beaten in north side home invasion

A violent home invasion involving leaves one man injured and five suspects at large in a north St. Louis neighborhood.

KMOV TV reports five suspects kicked in the front door of a home on the 5400 block of Claxton just before midnight.

Three people were inside the home. Two were able to run out a basement door. A third victim, described as a 52-year-old black male, was hit over the head while he tried to escape. He's being treated.

Police say the suspects got away with a flat-screen television and a cell phone.

The man who was shot by a woman while strangling her sister during a home invasion, has been charged.

Police say Joshua Jewell forced his way into a Highland apartment on Sunday. Once in side Jewell allegedly attacked the two sisters living there. During the attack on sister said she thought the man was going to kill her sibling. She grabbed her gun and fired two shots, with the second one hitting Jewell in the back.

Jewell continues to recover at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
