ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) — A suburban St. Louis couple has come forward with the winning $96.5 million ticket in the March 22nd drawing of the multistate Powerball game.

The Missouri Lottery on Friday identified John and Susan Brands, of St. Charles, as the jackpot winners.

The windfall has already changed life for the lucky couple, who are both 49 years old. John Brands, originally from Portageville, Missouri has quit his job as a civil engineer and is thinking of buying some farmland.

Susan Brands — a native of Wichita, Kansas — says they're making plans to visit New Zealand, buy new cars, and take time to learn new skills.

The winning numbers in the March 22nd drawing were 13, 28, 31, 55, 58, Powerball 15.

Not only was the $96.5 million winning Powerball ticket from the March 22 drawing sold in Missouri, but it was sold at a Mobil gas station in Bridgeton.
The Bridgeton Mobil, in the 12-thousand block of Natural Bridge Road, will receive a $50,000 bonus for selling the jackpot ticket.

Missouri Lottery officials say no one has stepped forward yet with the winning ticket. They have until September 18 to claim their prize.
This is Missouri’s sixth-largest prize. The winning numbers from the drawing were: 13, 28, 31, 55, 58 and the Powerball number was 15.

   The winning numbers Saturday were: 13, 28, 31, 55, 58, with a Powerball of 15.

Single winning Powerball ticket sold in Calif.

A lucky lottery player in California is the newest Powerball millionaire.  Lottery officials say one ticket, sold at a Chevron station near San Jose, is the sole winner in Wednesdat night's $425 million Powerball drawing.

   The winning numbers drawn were: 1, 17, 35, 49, 54 with a Powerball of 34.

There were no million-dollar winners in Missouri.  Lottery officials report that two people in Missouri matched four white balls and the Powerball.  One of them used the Power-play to triple the $10,000 prize.

Another big Powerball jackpot is up for grabs this week.

Lottery officials said no one matched all six numbers for Saturday's $330.8 million drawing. So the prize for Wednesday's drawing is expected to be the fourth-biggest Powerball jackpot and sixth-highest lottery prize of all time.  The estimated jackpot: at least $400 million.  That's just over $227 million for a single winner who opts for a lump sum.

Powerball jackpots have set several new records since January 2012, when ticket prices rose to $2 and starting prizes were raised to $40 million.

This pot has been growing since December.
