St. Louis, MO (KTRS) - A De Soto man is facing multiple felony charges.
Police say that Kevin Ricar broke in to a woman's home and tried to have sex with her last Friday, March 14. The victim says she woke up around 11 PM on Friday and found the suspect in bed with her. She told police that she new Ricar through a mutual friend. Police found the man blocks away from the home.
Ricar is held in the Jefferson County Jail.
Parents in the De Soto School District are being warned about an outbreak of scabies.
District 73 officials sent a letter home with students Thursday notifying parents that one high school student, a junior high student, and an elementary student have been sent home with the skin condition.
Scabies is caused by tiny mites burrowing beneath the skin. It's extremely itchy and highly contagious.
District officials say they are taking steps to disinfect schools.
Students with scabies can't return to school without a doctor's note.
De Soto is about 50 miles south of St. Louis in Jefferson County.
A De Soto man is in the hospital after his home exploded this afternoon.
The home exploded around 2 PM. Police say the homeowner was pulled from the rubble by neighbors. The neighbors told Fox 2 the man had been doing electrical work. Multiple arson squads are on the scene trying to determine the cause of the explosion.
