Saturdays 7 PM - ?
Change your thinking, improve your health, love your life! Like so many of her listeners, Victoria wears many hats. Broadcaster, certified personal trainer, wife, mother, friend, co-worker, advisor, caregiver. Juggling these roles daily and then dealing with the unexpected makes life challenging. Through the years, Victoria’s learned it’s ok to ask for help. And to help you flourish, not just “get by,” Victoria is joined every Saturday morning at 11:00 by local and nationally-known experts and listeners with their own stories of struggle and success. From food, fitness, family and fashion to work, love, parenting, travel, navigating cyberspace and social media... it’s Smart Living with Victoria Babu!
Victoria could be the poster woman for taking risks mid-life. A tomboy in her teens, a runner in her 20’s and 30’s and participating in 10k’s and marathons, Victoria discovered the unfamiliar world of Olympic-distance triathlons in her 40’s. She knew how to run, loved to cycle...but couldn’t swim!
The adage “sink or swim” and how it relates to life wasn’t wasted on her. So, at the age of 41 with the help of coaches with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training, she finished her first triathlon in Monterey Bay, CA with her dignity and body intact. She’s competed and even placed in over 15 triathlons since then, including the challenging, “you have to be slightly crazy to participate,” Escape from Alcatraz in San Francisco.
Along the way, she became a certified personal trainer, spinning instructor, cyclist, marathoner and golfer. A former yo-yo dieter and lifelong member of Weight Watchers, she relates to clients who struggle to achieve their fitness goals. She’s raised several thousand dollars for various causes. Now she’s putting her energy toward an even greater cause. Raising money for Scleroderma, a debilitating autoimmune disease of which she’s battling and beating the odds. In 2011, Victoria was honored with St. Luke’s Hospital’s Healthy Woman Award.
Her commitment to educating about health and wellness includes body, mind and soul.
