LONDON (AP) - Palace officials say Prince William's wife Kate has given birth to a baby boy.

Officials said Monday the baby was born at 4:24 p.m. and weighs 8 pounds 6 ounces.

The infant will become third in line for the British throne after Prince Charles and William.

Kate checked into a private wing at St. Mary's Hospital in central London early Monday morning.

William spent the long hours of labor at her bedside. This is the couple's first child.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Officials say George Zimmerman helped rescue four people from an overturned vehicle last week, just days after he was cleared of all charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Seminole County Sheriff's spokeswoman Kim Cannaday said in a statement Monday that deputies responding to the wreck found Zimmerman and another man had already helped the couple and their two children out of the flipped SUV.

The sheriff's office report says Zimmerman spoke with a deputy at the scene and then left. Zimmerman did not see the crash happen.

Zimmerman had been charged with second-degree murder in the 17-year-old's death. His acquittal prompted rallies nationwide calling for a civil rights probe, and the case has sparked debate about race and self-defense laws.

MARICOPA, Ariz. (AP) - An Iraqi man charged with detonating a homemade explosive device outside a federal building in Arizona now faces additional charges, including first-degree murder in a previous killing.

Authorities say Abdullatif Ali Aldosary is charged with murder, aggravated assault, and two firearms counts in the Nov. 27, 2012, killing of 26-year-old Orlando Requena at a grain facility in Maricopa, about 35 miles south of Phoenix.

Authorities say the suspect knew the victim, but they declined to discuss a motive.

Aldosary also faces 18 counts, including 14 attempted murder charges, in the Nov. 30 bombing outside an Arizona Social Security Administration building. No one was injured in the blast.

Aldosary initially faced five federal counts to which he pleaded not guilty. It wasn't clear if Aldosary had an attorney for the state charges.

CHICAGO (AP) - Former White House chief of staff Bill Daley is calling on Gov. Pat Quinn to bring the state's legislative leaders together for around-the-clock talks to resolve the state's $97 billion pension shortfall.

At a news conference on Monday, Daley urged Quinn to get more aggressive in trying to solve the worst-in-the-nation crisis by bringing legislative leaders to the governor's mansion in Springfield to negotiate until they reach some kind of deal.

Daley has formed an exploratory committee as he considers running against Quinn in next spring's Democratic primary.

Daley says the governor is wasting time and dismissed Quinn's suspension of lawmakers' pay until they come up with a solution to the crisis as a gimmick that may even be unconstitutional.
