No charges against parents of lost boy found at Schnucks
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Authorities say no criminal charges will be filed against the St. Louis woman whose 5-year-old son was found wandering alone late at night with his dog at a grocery store.
Workers at a Schnucks grocery store in south St. Louis found the boy about 11:15 p.m. Thursday. He said his name was Noah, but he didn't know his last name or where he lived. Workers took him in, gave the boy and the dog food, and called police.
Several hours later, on Friday morning, police located the child's mother. She told authorities she was sleeping and didn't know the boy had wandered off.
Police say there will be strict oversight to ensure that the mother and child get help toward what police call a "healthy living environment."

UPDATE: Murdered woman's missing child found safe
Police had been looking for 30 month old Tiana McNeil since her mother's family told them they didn't know where she was. The body of 27 year old Tatiana McNeil had been found Tuesday afternoon in a weedy lot along the 9200 block of Riverview.
Police say early Thursday evening, a woman came forward and told them she'd been caring for the toddler for about two weeks, when Tatiana McNeil dropped her off. The woman, identified only as a close friend of the victim, told police that it wasn't unusual for Tatiana to leave the child with her for extended periods. Police also say that the woman didn't know her friend had been killed until media reports had aired about the missing girl.
The girl is now in the custody of her maternal grandmother. The search for her mother's killer continues.
