ST. LOUIS (AP) - Police in St. Louis are searching for five men after a woman was killed during a robbery.

<br><br>

The crime happened Monday night. Police say 39-year-old Glenda Jackson and two others were robbed at gunpoint by five assailants. One of the suspects shot Jackson in the chest as she tried to take back the stolen property.

<br><br>

The suspects ran from the scene. Jackson was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Terrance Duff now faces three charges, including murder in the first degree, for allegedly shooting and killing 32-year-old Antoinetta Davis.

 Davis was mother to six kids and police say Duff was her ex-boyfriend and father of the children.

<br><br>

   The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. Monday. Vaughn says the children ran to the Jennings Police Station and said their mother had been injured.

<br><br>

   The ages of the children were not released but Vaughn says all are pre-teens.

<br><br>

   The suspect turned himself in around 5 a.m. at the county's Justice Services office in Clayton.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Thousands of people are protesting Patriot Coal Corp.'s bankruptcy reorganization plan in downtown Charleston, West Virginia.

   The protesters gathered at the Charleston Civic Center for a rally organized by the United Mine Workers of America. They heard from speakers including Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin before walking a short distance to protest outside Patriot Coal's West Virginia offices at Laidley Tower.

<br><br>

   Last week, the House of Delegates called for bankrupt Patriot Coal to honor its pension and benefit commitments to some 23,000 retired miners and their dependents.

<br><br>

   St. Louis-based Patriot is trying shed some of that $1.6 billion liability as it restructures. Patriot contends the move is needed to save 4,000 existing jobs.
