CHICAGO (AP) - An Illinois state senator has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor after being accused last year of trying to board a flight with a gun.
Donne Trotter's attorney, Thomas Durkin, says his client entered a guilty plea to reckless conduct on Wednesday as part of an agreement with prosecutors.
Durkin says the deal calls for the conviction to be stricken if Trotter successfully completes a year of non-reporting court supervision.
Durkin says a judge approved the agreement on Wednesday.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - State employees could keep firearms in their vehicles on state property under a bill heard by a Missouri Senate committee.
The measure considered Tuesday by the Senate General Laws Committee would allow those employees to have a firearm in their car if it is locked and the gun is not visible.
The legislation would also increase penalties for convicted felons who use an illegal firearm while committing another crime. But the committee's chairman, Republican Sen. Brian Nieves, said he wants to take that provision out of the bill.
The House has already passed the measure, and Nieves said he wanted the Senate committee vote on it Wednesday.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - The last two of 24 members of an outlaw biker gang indicted on charges ranging from racketeering to robbery to murder have been sentenced.
Anthony "Blade" Robinson of Chicago was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to life in prison without parole. He was convicted of murder last year. Meanwhile, Jerry "Angel" Peteet of Gary, Ind., was sentenced to 23 years in prison for racketeering. He is a former lawyer for the club.
The 2011 indictment named members of the Wheels of Soul gang. Prosecutors say the violent gang members were involved in drive-by shootings, armed robberies, drug dealing. The gang was headquartered in Philadelphia but had 400 members in 25 states.
Most of the men charged in the indictment pleaded guilty.
St. Louis native Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter and Square, can now add comic book superhero to his resume.
The St Louis Business Journal reports Dorsey is the latest in a series of celebrities and technology entrepreneurs to be featured in a comic book biography published by Bluewater Productions. The company is behind comic books that retell the story of The Beatles, Lady Gaga and President Barack Obama’s dog Bo Obama.
The comic book on sale today features a billionaire bachelor who gets a Tweet at a San Francisco cheese expo that ultimately leads to a battle with the forces of evil to save the world from a mad scientist. St. Louis and the Arch are featured in the story line.
Comic Flea Market is selling the book for $3.99 or online on iTunes, Nook, Amazon and other digital outlets for $1.99.
People looking to get rid of leftover prescription medications can drop them off at several locations across the listening area today. The City of St. Louis is teaming up with the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and the DEA to arrange the drop-offs. The DEA says keeping unused or expired medications around the house is not a good idea, because abusers of prescriptions meds often search for them in medicine cabinets of friends and family. Tossing medication in the trash or flushing them down the toilet is also not recommended. For a complete list of locations to drop off unused and expired medications, visit our website at KTRS.com.

A man and his teenage son are safe after being rescued from the Mississippi River Tuesday evening.
About 6 p.m. the two had become stranded when their johnboat snagged on debris near the Ameren Rush Island power plant about 12 miles south of Crystal City.
The Coast Guard was unable to launch an immediate rescue operation because their nearby boat launches were all underwater.
Crews from the Jefferson County R-7 Fire Department did get a boat in the water and rescued the pair just before 8 p.m.
Both the father and his 15 year old son were treated for exposure, but are expected to recover.
The City of Alton will soon have a new mayor after an improbable election result was certified Tuesday.
Businessman Brant Walker had been removed from the ballot two months before the election because of a technicality. He ran as a write-in candidate against incumbent Mayor Tom Hoechst, and won.
Election results certified yesterday by Madison County Clerk Debra Ming-Mendoza show that Walker beat Hoechst by just over two-percent, or 74 votes.
Hoechst released a statement saying that he planned to challenge the results, but won't wait for the process to be complete before he begins working with Walker to ensure a smooth transition should the results hold.
Madison County authorities want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a traffic stop along Godfrey Road just south of the Jersey County border about 6 p.m. Friday. That's where a 17 year old girl reported being pulled over by a man in a large, white car who may have been impersonating a police officer.
The man is described as a white male, about 30 to 40 years old, about 6'1' to 6'3' with a brown crew cut, no facial hair and wearing a blue button-up shirt and dark pants.
Madison County Sheriffs Captain Mike Dixon says investigators don't know yet if the man was an impostor, but it's important they find out.
Dixon says they suspect the man was impersonating an officer because his car had only a flashing blue light, when real police usually have both red and blue or just red lights.
But he also cautions that police do use unmarked cars to make traffic stops. Dixon says if anyone feels uneasy after being pulled over, they should call 9-1-1.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - USA Swimming will choose between Omaha, Neb., San Antonio and St. Louis as the site for the 2016 Olympic swimming trials.
The national governing body says it will announce the host city on Saturday.
Omaha has hosted the last two trials, in 2012 and 2008. Last year's eight-day event was attended by more than 164,000 fans and the meet was broadcast live in prime time on network television. Two temporary pools were built inside the CenturyLink Center for the event.
In 2004, the trials were held in Long Beach, Calif., the first time they were held outdoors in temporary pools.
In January, USA Swimming said six cities were bidding to host the trials. Former host Indianapolis, along with Greensboro, N.C., and Jacksonville, Fla., were eliminated after an evaluation team from USA Swimming, along with an outside member of the group's board, visited each location.
