There is an emergency water conservation order for residents in the cities of St. Peters and St. Charles.
Officials say there is a large water main break in the secondary supply line from St. Louis city. Crews are already on the scene making repairs. Customers in St. Peters and St. Charles are asked to use water only for essential needs until the situation is resolved.
Activities that should be discontinued include watering the lawn, washing cars, and other outside uses.
Police are expressing frustration after victims of a Thursday night shooting are not cooperating with investigators.
Police say a 29-year-old man started arguing with a 40-year-old man over motorcycle parts. The 40-year-old man left and returned a shot time later with a gun. That is when officers believe the suspect started shooting. The 29-year-old man and a second person ran from the scene. One of the men was shot, the other was uninjured.
Police say neither of the men is cooperating with police.
SIKESTON, Mo. (AP) - A southeast Missouri man is charged in the shooting death of his wife.
Sikeston police say in a news release that Stevie C. Lott was charged Thursday after his wife was found dead in their home.
Lott faces charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action, being a felon in possession of a firearm, endangering the welfare of a child and leaving the scene of a shooting.
Capt. Jim McMillen says police found the body of 26-year-old Nyketia Lott with a gunshot wound to the head after being called to the home early Thursday. The Southeast Missourian reports that no one else was in the home when police arrived.
Stevie Lott was found and arrested about two hours after his wife's body was found.
CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A 21-year-old St. Louis County woman is facing criminal charges for allegedly driving drunk when the car she was driving struck and killed her boyfriend.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Rachel Collier of Overland is charged with involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.
The accident on April 28 killed 26-year-old Desmond Edwards. Police say the couple had been drinking and arguing inside the car. Court documents indicate that when Edwards got out, Collier moved to the driver's seat, started the car and began driving.
She told police that she was going too fast and didn't see Edwards when she hit him.
Collier is jailed on $75,000 bond.
Crews still on the scene of a fire at a south St. Louis County recycling center.
Fire officials closed down an exit from I-55 to Bayless so they could battle the flames. At its peak, the the fire was a four alarm blaze. Workers evacuated the facility.
No word on any injuries and still no word on what started the fire.
Police in Centerville say three men were injured after being shot outside the Ernest Smith Housing Complex this morning. Detectives received a call just before 3 o'clock reporting shots fired. The men were allegedly involved in a dice game earlier in the night when a fight broke out. About an hour-and-a-half after the fight, at least one suspect returned to settle the score. Police say it is unclear how many suspects were involved. The injuries are not considered life threatening.
St. Louis County Police are asking for your help in finding a person involved in two robberies. One of the robberies took place in Delwood at the Advanced America Cash Loans store. That's where the unknown male displayed a gun before forcing a female employee to open the business's safe. He then peppered sprayed the woman and fled. The suspect is being described as a black male in his 20's, wearing a red, black and white striped shirt with black pants, black tennis shoes and wearing a red baseball cap. The second robbery took place at Missouri Payday Loans where again the suspect used pepper spray to demand money before fleeing on foot. A move to the SEC has not only raised Mizzou's national profile, but it's raised the bottom line of the local economy as well. A new study done by graduate students at university's College of Business shows a $41 million dollar increase in total the economic effect from athletics. The study estimates the school pumped $188 million into the region during the 2012-2013 season.
Services for 7 year old Willow Long will be held in her hometown of Watson, Illinois on Monday. The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church. A visitation is scheduled to take place Saturday at the Hearts Rock Cafe in Effingham High School from 5 to 9 p.m. Willow's uncle, 22 year old Justin DeRyke, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder. Prosecutors say he told investigators he killed his niece to end her suffering after she accidentally fell onto a brush pile and pierced her neck with a stick. DeRyke is being held on $5 million bond and hiring an attorney. He's set to appear again in court next Thursday.
Construction will cause delays for Interstate 64 drivers in Chesterfield Valley overnight Saturday. Crews will be setting bridge girders for the new ramp from Chesterfield Airport Road to westbound I-64.
Transportation officials say lane closures will start in the eastbound direction at 8:00 p.m. Saturday. And then move to the westbound lanes. The highway will be narrowed to just one lane to allow crews to work. All traffic will be halted for 15 minute intervals while the bridge girders are set into place.
All lanes should be open by 9:00 a.m. Sunday.
