Rams release Defensive Coordinator

Wednesday, 29 January 2014 15:41 Published in Sports

The St. Louis Rams are in the market for a new Defensive Coordinator.

The team fired current coordinator Tim Walton. Head Coach Jeff Fisher said in a release from the team, “I wish him well in the future.” The search for Walton's replacement could be a short one. Gregg Williams is expected to be hired for the position. Williams was originally hired by the Rams in 2012 to serve as Defensive Coordinator, but was suspended for the season after the NFL found out he ran a bounty program while with the New Orleans Saints.

Williams was reinstated last year and served as a consultant for the Tennessee Titans.

GOP's Rauner says Gov. Quinn 'failing' Illinois

Wednesday, 29 January 2014 15:39 Published in Local News
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Republican candidate for governor Bruce Rauner says Gov. Pat Quinn's annual address to the Legislature was "a campaign speech from a governor that is failing the people of Illinois."

Rauner spoke following the Chicago Democrat's State of the State address Wednesday in Springfield.

The Winnetka businessman says Quinn has been in office for five years and is now proposing a new five-year plan for jobs. Rauner notes Illinois has one of the country's highest unemployment rates and higher income taxes than when Quinn took office.

Rauner says Illinois is in an "economic death spiral" and Quinn "is trying to cover it up and put a rosy picture on it."

Rauner is facing Republican state Sens. Kirk Dillard and Bill Brady and Treasurer Dan Rutherford in the March primary.

Authorities have canceled a missing person advisory.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol announced that 85-year-old Donald Palmer has been located and is safe. Palmer had been missing since Monday afternoon.

EARLIER:
St. Louis County Police are asking for help to find a missing elderly man.

85-year-old Donald Palmer was last heard from at 5, Monday afternoon. Palmer is medium height and weights around 140 pounds, he has brown eyes and is bald. Police say it is possible that he was driving a silver 1990 Cadillac DeVille with a dark gray top. The car has Missouri plate D-F-2-G-6-Y.

Anyone with information on Donald Palmer’s whereabouts should contact St. Louis County Police at 314-889-2341 or call 911.
