UPDATE: Murdered woman's missing child found safe
Thursday, 17 January 2013 16:47 Published in Local NewsPolice had been looking for 30 month old Tiana McNeil since her mother's family told them they didn't know where she was. The body of 27 year old Tatiana McNeil had been found Tuesday afternoon in a weedy lot along the 9200 block of Riverview.
Police say early Thursday evening, a woman came forward and told them she'd been caring for the toddler for about two weeks, when Tatiana McNeil dropped her off. The woman, identified only as a close friend of the victim, told police that it wasn't unusual for Tatiana to leave the child with her for extended periods. Police also say that the woman didn't know her friend had been killed until media reports had aired about the missing girl.
The girl is now in the custody of her maternal grandmother. The search for her mother's killer continues.
