Pedestrian hit on I-70 near O'Fallon

St. Louis, MO (KTRS) - A young man is in the hospital after he was hit by a car while crossing I-70 this morning.

 

Just before 9:30 AM a woman was driving on eastbound 70 near O'Fallon, when she hit the pedestrian. Police say the driver did nothing wrong and do not know why the man was trying to cross the highway. Traffic was jammed until around 11 as police investigated the scene.

 

Police let the driver leave the scene and said there was nothing criminal about the accident. The man was unconcious when he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

A pedestrian is severely injured after being struck by a hit and run driver.

The unidentified victim was hit at the intersection of Oak Forest Drive and Laura Hill Road in St. Charles around 4 PM. The driver sped away after hitting the pedestrian. The victim is listed in extremely critical condition.
