Four dead in south St. Louis shooting

The call came in about 1:30 Thursday afternoon of a shooting on Cherokee Street; the Cherokee Place Business Incubator where several businesses are located. The victims' names have not been released, but we do know two men and two women, believed in their 40's or 50's, were killed at the A-K Home Healthcare office.

Ann McCullough is Cherokee Street Business Association Liason, "we're very strong and vibrant community and will continue to move forward as a creative, artistic district. And we all look at for each other and I just think it is going to remind people that they need to be aware of their surroundings."

That weapon, a semi-automatic handgun, has been recovered.

Arrest made in Highland shooting

Wednesday, the St. Louis Circuit Attorney announced charges against a suspect in one Tuesday night shooting.

Davonta Coleman faces several charges after allegedly shooting six people outside of a north St. Louis home around 10:30 Tuesday night. The victims told police that two cars stopped in front of the house and Coleman got out of one vehicle and started shooting.

The incident could be the result of a dispute between two families, but the investigation continues.

St. Louis Police are asking for help to identify a possible witness and the suspect in the fatal shooting of a 7-11 worker. 30-year-old Buhtanese refugee Mon Rai was killed on Monday at his job.

The witness is described as a black man about 5'10" with a medium length afro.

The suspect has a light complexion and is just over 5-and-a-half feet tall. The suspect's face was mostly obstructed--he was wearing a black ski mask and ski jacket. Police say the suspect's jacket is important--they believe it is unique.

CAPE GIRAREAU, Mo. (AP) - A Cape Girardeau man is facing two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of his wife and son.

The Cape Girardeau County prosecuting attorney said George Edwin Joseph was charged with murdering his wife, 57-year-old Mary Joseph, and 18-year-old son, Matthew Joseph, while they slept May 30.

Joseph was hospitalized after the shooting with a gunshot wound to the head.

The Southeast Missourian reports a probable cause statement said Joseph was depressed and facing "significant financial issues" that affected several other individuals. Police say Joseph told them he shot his wife and son so they would not face the shame of financial ruin.

Joseph is in custody on a $5 million cash-only bond.

Charges are filed against a man for shooting and killing a south St. Louis store owner during a robbery.

23-year-old Joseph Fox is charged with 1st degree murder, assault, robbery, and burglary. Police say Fox was robbing a convenience store in the 4400 block of Chippewa when he shot the owners. One of the victims was hit in the arm and survived. The other was shot and killed.

Fox is held without bond.

The St. Louis Police Department says a suspect is in custody connected to fatal shooting at a south city convenience store last week.

The shooting happened on Friday on the 4400 block of Chippewa. Police say a suspect was trying to rob the store when one of the owners threaten the suspect with a baseball bat. The suspect then shot both of the owners, killing one and hitting the other in the arm.

Police cannot release more information on the suspect until warrants are issued.

The victim of a fatal shooting in a north county neighborhood, has been identified.

Police say 17-year-old Tavelle Coleman was shot inside a Castlepoint home around 9:45 Monday night. There were seven other people in the house when the shooting happened.

The Castlepoint neighborhood is south of 270 just west of 367.

Charges are filed against the former police officer who shot a man during an argument last night.

James Little faces several charges including 1st degree murder for shooting and killing Will Dupree. St. Louis Police say Little was dropping his child off at the home of the child's mother. That is when Little and Dupree started arguing. The incident escalated and Little allegedly shot Dupree several times.

Dupree was pronounced dead that scene. Little once served as a police officer, but left the force in 2007.

Dozens of protesters demonstrated outside St. Louis city police headquarters Wednesday, determined to continue pressuring for an investigation into the shooting death of a St. Louis man. 

The anguish of a grandmother as a family seeks answers regarding the shooting death of Carey Ball, Jr. killed last month by St. Louis city police during a traffic stop. Family and friends depict a young man who was getting his life on track, an honor student at Forest Park. Police say he pointed a weapon and they opened fire.

Ball's father says his son did have a gun, but had thrown it down and was surrendering to police when he was shot. Carey Ball, Sr. says they don't want a pity party, just a thorough investigation.

Still very little information after a man was shot and killed in north St. Louis this morning.

Police say they found 20-year-old Jermaine Johnson on the street near the city's border with Pine Lawn around 2 AM. Witnesses told officers they heard the gunshots, but did not know much more about the shooting.
