St. Louis, MO (KTRS) - One local television station's undercover report on school safety, is the inspiration for a new piece of legislation.

Missouri State Representative Stacey Newman wrote on her blog, that she has filed House Bill 1522. The bill would make it a felony to "intentionally make a threat to the security of a public school or building” in order to expose security issues. Newman says the bill could stop situations like the one when a KSDK employee took a hidden camera in five schools, including Kirkwood High School.

The employee was not stopped at Kirkwood and the school was forced to go into lockdown when officials could not find the employee or verify that they were at the school as part of a story.

KSDK has apologized for the incident and the Kirkwood Superintendent accepted the apology.

Some St. Louis cable TV customers may be disappointed Friday when they try to tune in to watch the Cardinal's second NLDS game against the Pirates.  That's because it won't be available for most customers with basic cable.

The 1:00 p.m. game will air on MLB Network, which isn't available to everyone.  Charter customers will need a cable box and the select tier or higher subscription.  AT&T subscribers with the two highest-level tiers get MLB.  DirectTV customers must have a choice tier or better to see the game.  And Dish Network subscribers will need at least a top 200 package or a separate sports package.

Viewers can check with their television providers to find out if MLB Network is included in their subscription, or check MLB's local listings at: www.FindMLBNetwork.com.

Two St. Louis television stations are about to get a little cozier, as their parent companies become one.  Virginia-based Gannett Company, which owns KSDK (Channel 5) is buying Dallas-based Belo Corporation, which owns KMOV (Channel 4).

If Belo shareholders and the Federal Communications Commission sign off on the $1.5 billion deal, Gannett will grow from 23 stations nationwide, to 43.

Because of the FCC's media ownership limits, KMOV and four other Belo Stations will operate under the independent ownership of Jack Sanders.  The Phoenix man is a former Belo executive.

Gannet officials say the news and sales operations at KMOV will stay independent from those at KSDK.

A TV antenna maker had wanted to use the competition's own medium — cable TV — for its anti-cable message.

Officials at Antennas Direct say Charter Communications' refusal to air the ads is evidence of cable's growing concern over antennas.

At issue are 60 second spots that Antennas Direct of Ellisville sought to air in the St. Louis market.
