The St. Louis Major Case Squad is looking for a person of interest in the death of a Swansea, Illinois man.
Police say a friend had called and asked them to check on 61 year old David Daughtrey.  Police arrived at Daughtrey's home in the 200 block of Mimosa Avenue and found him dead inside.  Investigators aren't calling his death a homicide, but say it is "suspicious."
Daughtrey's adult son, Jarad Daughtrey also lived in the home.  Police are calling him a "person of interest" in his father's death.  Police believe he may be driving his father's black, black Chrysler Town and Country van, with handicapped/military tags and Illinois plate number W280371.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Case Squad at (618) 234-3291.

Man arrested in O'Fallon, Ill. bank heist

O'FALLON, Ill. (AP) - A man suspected of robbing a southwestern Illinois bank is jailed pending charges, as authorities try to figure out whether he may have been involved in holdups in other states.

Investigators say the man was arrested Tuesday near a Swansea cornfield after they found a car matching the description of a vehicle that had been used two hours earlier to rob the Bank of O'Fallon.

The search for the man involved dozens of law enforcers and an Illinois State Police airplane.

Authorities say the man entered the bank, implied he had a weapon and demanded money from a teller before running away.

O'Fallon interim police chief Jeff Wild says the man may be responsible for other bank robberies outside Illinois.

There's no immediate word on charges. The FBI is investigating.

That's according to police who day the body of 50-year-old Carmen Boyd was found by her landlord. Police arrested 37-year-old Kristofer McDavid Saturday. A day later, the St. Clair County prosecutor charged McDavid with first-degree murder.

Captain Jeff Wild, deputy commander of the Major Case Squad said Boyd and McDavid were acquaintances."It was not random. There's no randomness to this whatsoever. I would just leave it that it was a confrontation that led to the untimely death of our victim."

Police aren't sharing many details about the murder, but court records indicate that Boyd was stabbed. McDavid's bail has been set at five-million dollars.

Swansea Police Chief Mike Arnold says this was the first homicide in the metro-east community since 2006.
