3 stores targeted in smash and grabs overnight
Another rash of smash and grabs happened within minutes of each other overnight.
Two beauty supply stores and a gas station are the latest to be targeted.
The most recent happened just before 5:30 this morning at Paradise Beauty Supply off Goodfellow and West Florissant.
Police report four men drove a Dodge Ram truck into the front of the store and stole a cash register and hair extensions worth $500 each.
The first burglary happened at a gas station in Bellefontaine Neighbors after the business’ front door was smashed in around 4:45 a.m. A half hour later a Sally Beauty Supply on West Florissant near I-270 was hit. Police in St. Louis city and county said they do not have anyone in custody in connection to the three incidents.
The latest string of smash-and-grabs mark at least the 10th such crime in the St. Louis area over the past few weeks.
On Tuesday, thieves stole items from a Central West End Radio Shack after apparently using a truck to ram the cinder-block back of the store.
According to police, the thieves stole several flat-screen televisions and laptop computers totaling more than $1,000 in value.
