FOUND: Endangered SILVER Advisory Cancelled

   Chesterfield police have located an elderly man reported missing Monday evening.  The Endangered SILVER advisory has been cancelled.

   Police had issued the advisory after 93 year old Sam Esgro didn't return home from a trip to Culvers on Chesterfield Airport Road.  Employees at the ice cream shop had told police that Esgro seemed confused when he stopped there about 6 p.m.  

   Police say Esgro was located overnight in Earth City.

The search for an elderly north county man is in day four.

R.V. Mandrell is 82-years-old and has Alzheimer's disease. He was last seen around 7:30 Tuesday morning and reported missing 4:30 that afternoon. Mandrell is a white man, five and-a-half feet tall, and weighs 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and shorts.

He is believed to be in the north St. Louis County area. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the St. Louis County Police Department at 314-889-2341.

Elderly north county man still missing

An elderly man from north St. Louis county who has Alzheimer's is still missing.

82-year-old R.V. Mandrell wandered away from his home in the 1700 block of New Jamestown around 7:30 Tuesday morning. Mandrell is described as a white man about five-and-a-half feet tall, weighing 155 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt and shorts when he went missing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact St. Louis County Police.

Woman with schizophrenia found in hospital

An endangered person advisory has been lifted after a missing woman was found.

Catharyn Cannon suffers from schizophrenia and had wandered away from her home on Tuesday afternoon. Police say that Cannon was found today at a hospital.

No word on her condition.

Cannon walked away from her home around noon on Tuesday. Her family says that Catharyn may not speak when spoken to.

Woman walks away from treatment center

St. Louis County Police say a woman is missing from a psychiatric treatment center.

20-year-old Sarah Croak walked away from the Castlewood Treatment Center in the middle of the night and was reported missing on Thursday. Sarah is described as a white female, 5’7”, 125 lbs and thin, with green eyes. She has long black curly hair with a blonde patch on her bangs. Sarah has previously attempted suicide and is a cutter with scars on her wrist.

Anyone who sees her or who has information is asked to call the St. Louis County Police at 314/615-0700.

NEW MADRID, Mo. (AP) - The family of an 83-year-old southeast Missouri woman missing since late August is offering a $25,000 reward in hopes of her safe return.

The Sikeston Standard Democrat reports the reward was announced Monday following another intensive search for Barbara Stoffer, of New Madrid.

Stoffer was last seen on the afternoon of Aug. 20. She drove a green 1993 Volvo, and friends said she visited the nearby Mississippi River daily.

Assistant New Madrid Police Chief Joey Higgerson says the reward is being offered for Stoffer's return or for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.

Dozens of volunteers joined law enforcement officers from Missouri, Tennessee and Illinois in a renewed search Saturday. An earlier search included dive teams from the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The search for a woman reported missing from University of Missouri-St. Louis is over.

University officials issued a missing person alert last week for Allison Reed. Her father dropped her off at a university housing complex around 8 PM Thursday.

A university spokesman says Reed was found at a nearby hospital. She is not currently enrolled in classes, but lives in a students facility.

NEW MADRID, Mo. (AP) - The search continues for an 83-year-old southeast Missouri woman missing since last week.

Eighty-three-year-old Barbara Stoffer of New Madrid (MAH-drid) was last seen on the afternoon of Aug. 20. She is 5-foot-2 and weighs 120 pounds with gray hair. Stoffer drives a green 1993 Volvo with Missouri license plate number 073RYW.

KFVS-TV reports that hundreds of people gathered Sunday night at a candlelight vigil for Stoffer.  City police and the county sheriff continue to search for her.

Friends say Stoffer visited the nearby Mississippi River daily. The search includes river dive teams from the state Highway Patrol.

   An 82 year old Alton woman who's been missing since Monday morning has been found alive.  

   Madison County authorities say horseback riders found Shirley Plunk Wednesday evening.  She and her minivan were stuck in the mud at the end of a dirt road in Mitchell, Illinois.  

   Plunk told police the van got stuck Monday afternoon.  She got out, slipped in the mud and became stuck herself.  

   Plunk was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and reunited with her family.

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. (AP) - Twenty-four years after a 14-year-old girl disappeared from near her eastern Missouri home, leads still trickle in concerning the disappearance of Gina Dawn Brooks.

Gina was last seen on Aug. 5, 1989. Her red bicycle was found on the street in her hometown of Fredericktown. There were reports of a light blue, gray or green station wagon at about the time a witness heard a scream in the neighborhood.

FBI spokeswoman Rebecca Wu told the Daily Journal newspaper in Park Hills, Mo. that new information still comes in from time to time, and agents investigate every tip.

Bryant Squires reportedly made a deathbed confession in 1996, indicting an associate, Nathan "Danny" Williams, but first-degree murder charges against Williams were eventually dropped due to lack of evidence.
