Police are asking for help to find the suspects who robbed a Cahokia gas station overnight.

The Midwest Petroleum convenience store was robbed around 2:30 AM. Three suspects smashed the front windows of the store. The suspects drove off in a blue Chevy truck with an American flag rear window cover. Police say there is damage to the right rear corner of the truck.

A suspect is in custody after allegedly shooting into a South St. Louis home.

Police were on the scene when they saw the suspect fire several shots into a home near the intersection of Nebraska and Cherokee. Officers chased the man and caught him just a few blocks away.

No one was injured in the home and it is not known why he shot at the house.

Dozens of protesters demonstrated outside St. Louis city police headquarters Wednesday, determined to continue pressuring for an investigation into the shooting death of a St. Louis man. 

The anguish of a grandmother as a family seeks answers regarding the shooting death of Carey Ball, Jr. killed last month by St. Louis city police during a traffic stop. Family and friends depict a young man who was getting his life on track, an honor student at Forest Park. Police say he pointed a weapon and they opened fire.

Ball's father says his son did have a gun, but had thrown it down and was surrendering to police when he was shot. Carey Ball, Sr. says they don't want a pity party, just a thorough investigation.

A St. Louis man redefined the phrase, out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Clayton police were conducting a traffic stop when the suspect jumped out of his car and started run. He just didn't have a very good sense of direction...he ran across the street and directly into the St. Louis County Police headquarters.

Officers inside the building took the man into custody and charges are pending.

Man convicted for molesting child

A north county man is headed to jail after a jury convicted him of molesting a child.

Richard Williams was found guilty of five charges in all. Williams molested the child, who was under twelve when the abuse occurred, between 2010 and 2011.

Prosecutors say Williams was friends with one of the child's grandparents.

Still very little information after a man was shot and killed in north St. Louis this morning.

Police say they found 20-year-old Jermaine Johnson on the street near the city's border with Pine Lawn around 2 AM. Witnesses told officers they heard the gunshots, but did not know much more about the shooting.

St. Louis ciyy and county police are launching a new program that targets violence in high-crime areas.

The "St. Louis Initiative to Reduce Violence" or "SIRV" was announced this morning. Officials say SIRV is a grass roots crime fighting effort that will combine the efforts of additional police resources and community leaders. The pilot program will focus on kids and young adults and include Jennings in North County and the Walnut Park and Baden neighborhoods in north St. Louis.

St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson, St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch, and former police chief Dan Isom, were on hand for the announcement.

Police in Crystal City are turning to the public to identify the suspect in a bank robbery.

Witnesses told police that a white man in his mid-20's walked into the US Bank on Bailey Road early Wednesday afternoon and demanded money from a teller. The suspect ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Federal authorities are offering a reward for anyone who can help find the person who stole explosives in Troy, Missouri.

The Lincoln Count Sheriff's Office says the suspect stole two crates that contained 100 pounds of explosives.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the successful prosecution of the suspects in the case.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Police are searching for the car thief who got more than he expected when he took an idling car - a toddler in the backseat.

The 2-year-old is OK after the scare late Tuesday in St. Louis.

Police say a car was left running at an ATM. The child's father got out to use the machine and while he was gone, someone stole the car with the child inside.

Police found the car minutes later in an alley. The child slept through the whole ordeal.

Officers are looking at ATM video in an effort to find the suspect.
