UPDATE at 4:05 PM: Police say that James Moon was last seen Tuesday afternoon in Lincoln County, MO. Officers believe he could be trying to get to Iowa.

 

A St. Charles County family is asking for help to find an elderly man who has been missing for a day.

81-year-old James Moon has been missing since 5:30 Tuesday morning. He was last seen at his house near Highway Y in O'Fallon, Missouri. Moon suffers from dementia and is diabetic. His family says he is does not drive and is probably disoriented.

Moon is 5'10" and weighs 140 pounds. He could be wearing blue jeans and a khaki colored cap. It is possible he is trying to hitchhike to his old home in Ste. Genevieve.

The search continues for a man in the Mississippi River.

Police say two men were in a car that was parked near the Merchants Bridge in north St. Louis when it started to roll. The car traveled into the water, where one man was able to get out. Fishermen helped pull him from the water. The second man was last seen floating down the river face down.

Search boats are out looking for the man.

BENTON, Mo. (AP) - Two southeast Missouri teenagers missing since Saturday have been found in Mississippi.

 

The Southeast Missourian reports that 16-year-old Tyler Austin Crider and 15-year-old Hailey Nicole Haynes were found by police near Lexington, Miss., on Tuesday after the pickup truck they were in experienced trouble.

 

Scott County, Mo., Sheriff Rick Walter says the parents have been notified and were traveling to Mississippi to pick up the teens.

 

The teens left sometime after 10 p.m. Saturday. Tyler was staying at his grandparents' home near Sikeston at the time. His mother says he left a note on his pillow, then took a pickup truck registered to his grandparents and camping gear.

 

Hailey lives near Sikeston. Her mother says she left a note, too. Authorities believe Tyler picked her up.

Police need the public's help to find a 21-year-old woman who is developmentally disabled.

Cara Ascencio was last seen on January 31 after leaving a family member's home. Her family tells police she does not have a cell phone or access to money. Cara suffered a brain injury and has other mental health issues, leaving her with diminished mental capacity. She is a white woman, five-and-a-half feet tall and weighs 185 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink parka coat, blue jeans, knee high black boots and was carrying a white purse.
