St. Louis, MO (KTRS) - An event that is being billed as "not you father's job fair" is coming to downtown St. Louis tomorrow.
Tech Jobs Under the Big Top will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 Thursday, at Lumen, a private event space located at 2201 Locust Street. The event features tech companies who are looking for people to fill positions from software developers to sales professionals. Up to a dozen local tech companies will take the stage and give a three minute speech--pitching their company to applicants. After the speeches, applicants will have a chance to meet with potential employers.

It has been so cold, you probably have not been thinking about your first trip to an amusement park this summer yet.
But at Six Flags, they are preparing for the 2014 season. The seasonal employer is preparing for a pair of job fairs, during which they hope to fill more than 2,500 jobs. Positions are for anything from entry level to seasonal management.
The job fairs will be held Feb. 1 and 15, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the human resources office. Applicants can apply ahead of time on the Six Flags website.]]>
Life Skills is a St. Louis-based organization that helps people with developmental disabilities, specializing in autism, live and work in the community. Life Skills is looking to hire 150 people.
They are looking to fill both full-time and part-time positions. In some cases, no prior experience is necessary. Wendy Sullivan is the CEO of Life Skills and says she cannot remember a time when they had this many open positions. She says that shows the importance of the work they do and the need for help. Sullivan says it is a great way to get involved in the field, "It's great work. It's very rewarding. I'm the CEO, but I started in Life Skills in one of these positions, and I loved it."
The job fair is Wednesday from 3:30 to 6:30 PM at their Creve Coeur office. Attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume and be prepared for interviews.]]>

The fair runs from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Gateway Convention Center. Some of the companies looking to hire; AAA, Clearwave Communications, Illinois state Police, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Special School District of St. Louis County.
